Robin Hart

Robin is an experienced Chartered Quantity Surveyor and has been a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) since 2011, holding an MSc in Quantity Surveying and a BSc in Rural Environment Studies. He also brings a strong foundation in health and safety, supported by a NEBOSH General Certificate. Robin joined his father’s quantity surveying business in 2008 rebranding as HartQS soon after, before becoming part of Hills following a merger in 2014 when Robin’s father retired. Robin’s expertise and leadership have seen him progress to becoming a director in 2025.

Robin manages projects across both pre- and post-contract phases, overseeing delivery from initial appointment through to completion. He works closely with clients, architects, contractors and wider professional teams, providing services including cost estimating, cost planning, procurement advice, tender and contract documentation, financial reporting, valuations, and final accounts. He is also experienced in managing cost variations and negotiations to prevent disputes, including extensions of time and liquidated damages.

Robin specialises in residential projects including new build and refurbishment projects, predominantly throughout South West England, whether that is for a complete build or for an extension. His portfolio includes working in National Parks, on historic buildings, barn conversions, country houses and coastal properties. Robin has also worked on church schemes (including new builds, extensions and reordering projects), community buildings and small commercial projects.

In his spare time Robin can be found walking with his family, swimming, playing the bass guitar and also playing chess for Teignmouth Chess Club. When able to take time off Robin enjoys travelling and has visited many countries throughout Europe and in the Americas.
