Gary Pope

Gary is a highly experienced Chartered Surveyor with a strong academic and professional background, including a BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying, membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and qualifications in safety, sustainability, and energy assessment.  

Since joining Hills in 1998, Gary has played a key role in the company’s growth, progressing to Associate Director in 2007 and Director in 2015.  He now works alongside senior colleagues to oversee the management of Hills’ operations, with responsibility for the Exeter office.

With extensive experience across both public and private sector construction, Gary has successfully delivered a wide range of new build and refurbishment projects.  Gary’s portfolio includes social housing developments, including extra care schemes, large-scale multi-phased housing projects delivered through Section 106 agreements, and energy-efficient Passivhaus homes. Known for his practical expertise and strong project leadership, Gary brings a comprehensive and client-focused approach to delivering high-quality, sustainably built developments. Outside of work, Gary enjoys spending time with his family, working on his garden and taking time for the occasional round of golf
