Philip Rumbelow

With 40 years’ experience in the construction industry, Philip has a wealth of knowledge with a strong academic and professional foundation, holding a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering and a Diploma in Surveying from the College of Estate Management. He has been a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors since 1993 and also holds IOSH Managing Safely certification and a CSCS card. Philip began his Hills career with Hills in 1987, where he has progressed through a series of senior leadership roles, becoming a director in 2003. In 2015 Philip took on the Managing Director role, responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction and performance of the company.

Philip plays a key role in overseeing the Southwest regional operations alongside fellow senior leaders. He brings extensive expertise in construction project management across a diverse portfolio, including education, healthcare, public sector and charity-funded developments, as well as private commercial and residential schemes. Philip has acted as Project Director on numerous recent construction management projects, demonstrating his leadership, attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes across all sectors.

Outside of work Philip enjoys sailing, skiing and walking around the beautiful Devon coastline.
