Following public consultation, a pioneering new facility for emergency response services in Milton Keynes has been developed. The Blue Light Hub is going to be the first of its kind in the country, combining two existing fire stations in Bletchley and Milton Keynes, as well as providing space for Thames Valley Police and South Central Ambulance Service.
Area Commander Paul Holland, Head of Projects and Transformation at Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service, has said: "We are really pleased that we can finally show our staff and the public this exciting new facility that has been designed to complement the existing architecture in Milton Keynes."
Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service wanted a local company to take on the role of Principal Designer to support the Lead Architect in the CDM duties. Following a competitive tender Hills were appointed as Principal Designer for this £4.4m scheme and work is progressing on the CDM aspects of the development in order to provide tender documents for the construction works.
